Verify an Emotional Support Animal Registration Number
Enter the registration number printed on the card. You'll see whether we issued that number and whether it is still active. Nothing more, because the rest is private.
Every ESA Card registration number can be checked on this page, with no account and at no cost.
What is an ESA number?
An ESA number is a registration number issued by a private registry: there is no official or government ESA number in the United States, ours included. Numbers issued by ESA Card look like ESA-2026-XXXXXX, are printed on the wallet card and certificate, and are checkable on this page.
Verification questions
Checking a number in the format ESA-2026-XXXXXX on the ESA Card verification page is free and needs no account. The result shows whether ESA Card issued that number and whether it is still active, plus only what the wallet card itself displays: the pet's name and breed, the city, and the issue date. It does not confirm a disability, a medical need, or an animal's status. The number is printed on both the card and the certificate and encoded in the card's QR code.
One of three ordinary things: a typo, a number that was never issued, or a card from a different registry. Numbers from other companies verify only on their own sites, so a not-found result at ESA Card says nothing about a card we did not issue. A refunded ESA Card registration is different: it shows as inactive rather than not found.
No. No registration number from any company carries legal force, and a housing provider may lawfully decline a card or number presented on its own. What a housing provider will ask for is a letter from a licensed healthcare provider; the card is the convenience credential carried alongside it.
